To leave town, keep moving towards the border of the map. Move into a door to open it. To board a boat, move onto it. To leave it, steer it onto land. You close a door by Using it. Some doors are locked - you can pick or bash open the lock when you move into them. When talking, looking, or using, first click on the appropriate button, and then click on the space to act on.
